Gratitude Special

In the Law of Nature Everything Grows

If you feel the lack, then lack also grows

When you don't feel a sense of lack, you feel grateful. You cannot be grateful and also feel a lack. The two cannot go together at the same time. Even if you have experienced both, then you must have at different times. When you feel grateful, you also feel full.

When you feel the lack, grumbling begings from some corner of the mind. However, with this knowledge you can become grateful again. As Jesus said, "Those who have will be given more. Those who have not, even what little they have, will be taken away from them." It simply means that gratefulness will bring more abundance into your life.

If you are grumbling, you will see that grumbling and negativity increases. For those, who do not have this knowledge, there is no way to get rid of their grumpiness because that becomes their nature. They make it their second nature; it becomes a habit. And once they start grumbling, demand arises and everything is taken away from them. Even with what little joy, peace

or love they have come into this world is all lost. It's very simple.

In gratefulness; everything grows. If you feel the lack, then lack also grows. For example, you feel some lack today; then tomorrow, you will feel something else is also lacking. And in a couple of years after having been provided everything, you will still feel the lack. There is no end to it. And when someone grumbles throughout their life, their mind doesn't think, focus or function properly, and naturally they tend to lose everything.

Not having is just an attitude in you; it's the direction you are moving in. Whatever is there grows. If you sow seeds, the seeds will grow. They become aplenty. If the seed is a seed of lack, then lack will grow. Open your eyes and see what you have been given!  When you recognize, when you know what you have been given through this knowledge, then you become grateful.

Instead of focusing on what you do not have, be grateful for the gifts that life has endowed you with. Soak your entire being into the waters of gratefulness, and you will see how life takes a new turn, and makes you beautiful!

Seeing Life Through Gratitude Glasses

It's easy to be thankful when everything is going great. When we're on top of the mountain, and we're having a beautiful day and our blessings are easy to see, we are thankful. And we should be.

But it is not easy to be thankful when we're sitting in the valley. When life seems to be handing us a bunch of lemons, we usually feel bitter or victimized.

Let's assume there is a new product out on the market. You can pick up a pair of "gratitude glasses" at Target for Rs. 20. These glasses enable you to see life in a whole different way. Try to wear this glasees and see the life…

There are no problems.
With these glasses, you have no problems in your life. Everything in your life is an opportunity. When we perceive life through our fears, unpaid bills and conflict, for instance, become problems or challenges. However, these glasses- the grateful heart enable us to see life with loving eyes. Every conflict is an opportunity to learn how to love more deeply.

There are no mistakes.
With the gratitude glasses, mistakes disappear. These glasses help us understand

that we all make decisions based on who we are at this or that time. Instead of viewing choices as "mistakes", why not look at them as an opportunity to learn more about ourselves and other people?

There are no annoying people.
Put on the gratitude glasses and suddenly all the annoying people in your life become your friends. You've heard the saying, "Mean people need love." Your new glasses now give you the ability to release your anger and understand the annoying people on a much deeper level. You begin to appreciate your differences and the judgments disappear. Your love begins to transform not only you, but others as well.

Change is good.
You pick up your gratitude glasses and put them on,

and suddenly you embrace change. You are thankful that life does not always happen as planned. You stop trying to control life, and instead let life unfold. Change is exciting, fear of the unknown is gone, and you can't wait to see what happens next. Your faith is strong and unstoppable.

Pain has a purpose.
Whether it is physical or emotional pain, it's hard to go through life without experiencing it. But with your gratitude glasses, you see that your pain has a purpose. Your physical pain tells you that something in your mind or body is not working well. Your emotional pain is a wake up call to the transformation that is possible. Without the valleys, we cannot appreciate tops.

These inexpensive "gratitude glasses" offer so many more benefits, but what if you only received these five advantages? Would you purchase the glasses? Would you wear your gratitude glasses all the time? What if you were told that the glasses were yours for free? All you have to do is shift your energy by changing your thoughts.

How to teach Gratitude to our children? Do our children value what they have? Do they know that while they enjoy comfortable living and luxuries, there are millions of children who do not have enough food, shelter or cloths? Have we taught them to empathise with such millions of children? Do we teach them the value of money-that what we squander after unnecessary luxuries can save or help some lives critically?

Whomsoever you want to love, first of all know that they love you very much. If you doubt in somebody's love, your doubt grows, no matter what you receive from them. If you want to be close to someone, firstly begin to feel that they are already close to you. You ask people, 'Do you trust me?" You doubt their trust, and that's what grows in you.

There is no limit to that, because there is no end to convincing people of one's love, of one's trust and goodness.

“Anyone who thinks he is stupid, stand up,” said the teacher to his students. After a long silence the most intelligent student in the class stood up. ‘Do you think you’re stupid?” asked the teacher, surprised.

“No, Sir, but I couldn’t bear the thought of you standing there all on your own.”

For any transformation, meditation of some sort is ESSENTIAL.

This is GRATITUDE MEDITATION.

Gratitude is the awareness of all the kindness your spouse does for you, of which you must recognize. A daily gratitude diary is a great way to get in the habit of noticing. Everyday, add five new things your spouse has done for you and then communicate your appreciation of these kindnesses; this is true gratitude.

Love is the feeling you get when you focus on and appreciate your spouse's virtues, positive attributes and character traits.

If you don't want to be ill... TRUST.

We are what we think. The negative thought generates negative energy that is transformed into illness.

Who does not trust, does not communicate, is not opened, is not related, does not create deep and stable relations, does not know to do true friendships.  Without confidence, there is not relationship. Distrust is a lack of faith in you and in faith itself.

  Editor's Note

For each and every situation of life, it takes a conscious choice to be grateful instead of focusing on negative events or emotions. But as we all have experienced sometime, living in gratitude is really more than just thinking positively.

When a person concentrates on being grateful, it gives him something to actually look for and pay attention to. Amazing things are revealed when we are aware, and this can provide much inspiration. Hope this special issue of alive will inspire you in some way towards Greatfullness.

 The Story of Gratitude

A King saw a small boy beg for alms at the palace gates. He felt pity on him and asked him to stay in the palace for a few days. The boy was expecting a royal room with servants waiting on him but it was not so.

The next morning, the boy expressed his dissatisfaction to the King about the room and other things. The King was furious with the boy and ordered his guards to throw him out.

The boy met a Sufi Master and told him all that had happened. The Master asked the boy to disguise himself and accompany him back to the King's palace. On reaching the palace, the King invited the Master and the boy to stay in the palace for a few days. The Master profusely thanked the King for the offer.

He was given the same room the boy had been given earlier. The next morning, the Master expressed deep gratitude to the King for giving him all the possible comforts. The King was overjoyed and handed the Master a thousand gold coins and offered him guest room to stay in for as long as he wished to. The Sufi Master thanked the King again and went on his way.

"When a man cares he is unafraid. When he is fair, he leaves enough for others. When he is humble, he can grow."
-- Lao-Tzu "TaoTeChung"

Build Gratitude Muscles

Begin a gratitude diary. Write as often as necessary to capture your authentic gratitude, whether that be daily, hourly, as the impulse strikes, or as often as your heart tells you to.

Notice what you are truly grateful for. There is no mistaking authentic gratitude. You can feel it in your heart. It stirs your soul. Authentic gratitude expands your heart, empowers you to reach out and acknowledge those on the other end of your gratitude, and puts you into the creative flow.

Write, call or visit those you are grateful for. It only takes a moment to do this, but the effects are immeasurable for everyone involved.

Give gratitude forward. Experience and express gratitude for what is yet to come. This is best done first thing in the morning. Your new day is filled with possibility. It has not yet been written. You get to co-create it with everything around you.

Give thanks to yourself for all that you are and all that you are becoming.

Hold a monthly gratitude circle with friends, family, or anyone else you feel called to be with. Notice where your experience is similar and where it is unique. How does sharing your practice with others change your experience?
